18 months old!

Leenie and Margs turned 18 months old yesterday.  They are busy, busy little girls!  They are loving every moment of summer fun, and, oh baby, there has been a lot of fun over the past month!

The girls love visiting Grandpa Dave's house on Whidbey Island.  They get so excited the minute they see the "wah-wah" (water) when we near they ferry dock.  Once at Sandy Point, they love running around the play field, watching all of the kids ride their bikes around, and walking on the beach looking for shells.  We are so lucky to have such a fun place to visit!

Grandma Cary and PopPop moved into their new house just in time for tons of summer fun!  The girls already have the run of the place; they know just where their toys are and basically run in a big circle from the backyard to the kitchen to the den to the playroom to their room and back down the stairs to do it all over again.  They love the seals in the pond and absolutely scream with joy watching their Dada play pickle ball.  It is like going on vacation!

We said goodbye to Helen and Steve this past month as they left for their New York adventure.  It was really sad to see them go as Helen has been such an important part of our family for so long, but we are beyond excited for them to be taking this next step.  The girls miss their "Honey" very much but we are so happy to say that things with our new nanny, Maria, are going great.  No one will ever replace Helen, but we are pleased to see the girls taking to Maria so quickly.  We can't wait to hear all about the amazing adventures Helen and Steve are having in NYC!

Uncle Jim and his girlfriend, Jenny, came for a visit from New Orleans in early August.  It was great to meet Jenny and so wonderful to see Jim.  We were lucky to have Jim and Jenny spend a couple of nights with us and even got a date night (thanks, Grandpa Dave!) with them at Ray's Boathouse.  We took a trip to the zoo while they were here and a trip down to Olympia for a great dinner at Uncle Wes and Aunt Becky's house.  It is hard not to see Jim very much but we are so happy he is having a great time in New Orleans!

Last but certainly not least, I want to wish my mom and dad a very, very happy 40th anniversary today.  None of this joy would be possible if it wasn't for you.  I am so happy you met, fell in love, and decided to have a family.  I couldn't ask for better parents and Rob and I feel so lucky to have you be such a major part of Eileen and Margaret's lives.  We love you so much!
