6 Weeks Old!

Hannah's first smile at 1 month old!  Big sister Eileen was so proud!

Hannah turned 6 weeks old yesterday and we are getting into our groove as a family of 5.  Some days are easier than others, especially when it is 9:00pm and Mom and Dad are asleep at the 2.5 year olds are not, but overall we realize that we are truly blessed.  The twins are still enamored with their baby sister and Hannah is more alert every day.  She smiles and coos at us and our hearts all melt.  Eileen is especially attentive to Hannah and wants to help change her and feed her when she gets a bottle.  Hannah is still a champion eater (nursing just one baby is so amazing!) and her night feeds are especially easy.  She is up 2-3 times for exactly 8 minutes each.  We are not feeling the utter exhaustion we did with the twins (thank goodness!).  Margaret continues to amaze us with her athletic ability.  She is jumping off of everything and can clear about 3 feet.  That girl will definitely be ready for some organized sports this spring!

I forgot to post Hannah's 2 week appointment update a few weeks ago.  On September 13 she weighed 9lbs 14oz (90th percentile) and was 21.25" long (85th percentile).  Dr. Sheridan said she was thriving and putting on about 2oz per day at that time.  We felt great about that since she lost a little too much weight her first week.  She is growing like a weed and is already in her 3 month outfits.  She appears to definitely be following in her sisters' big footsteps.
