So Thankful...

We are so blessed! ~ Dad, Eileen, Margaret, and Mom with Hannah

November was a perfect time to reflect on the many, many blessings my life.  I am first and foremost thankful for my wonderful husband, Robby.  I couldn't ask for a better partner in life.  I know he would do anything for our family and I am continually amazed by the love he shows me and our precious little girls.  He is always present, patient, and caring.  Robby recently announced his run for Seattle City Council (www.Rob4Seattle.com) and I am honored to stand by his side during this exciting time.  I know he is going to do truly amazing things for our city.

Hannah Rose had her 15 month check-up last week with Dr. Sheridan and she continues to be our happy, healthy, full of fun little one.  At her appointment she was 31.25" tall (75th percentile) and weighed 25lbs 3oz (91st percentile).  She fed herself with a spoon for the first time yesterday (peach yogurt...yummy and messy!) and her molars are just starting to come in (she currently has four teeth all the way in on top as well as four on the bottom).  I haven't seen any crawling from her in a couple of weeks now as she is getting more and more sure of walking (and running!).  At 15 months she has officially dropped her morning nap which gives us a lot more flexibility for morning fun and so far means a solid afternoon nap when her sisters go down.  In fact, I'm hitting a napping "trifecta" right now as I type...AMAZING!

Eileen and Margaret have been great helpers as we head into this holiday season.  "I love this time of year," sighed Leenie as I tucked her in for her nap one afternoon last week.  They've baked cookies, decorated the tree, and danced hours away to Christmas music.  They have been practicing "Jingle Bells", "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer", and "3 Little Snowplows" for their holiday concert at Alphabet Soup next week.  By the sounds of things it is going to be absolutely adorable!  This Sunday the girls will be attending their very first Pacific Northwest Ballet Nutcracker performance (thank you so much, Uncle Wes!) and the look on their faces when I told them that happy news was priceless.

A huge smile and cheer from Eileen when I told her Uncle Wes bought us tickets to PNB's Nutcracker

Thanksgiving weekend was a wonderful celebration of family and friends.  Robby's favorite day of the year, our annual Pre-Thanksgiving party, was a great success and super easy to host since Care and Pop-Pop took all three kiddos overnight for us (thank you, Care and Pop-Pop!).  We joined the kids at Care and Pop-Pop's Thanksgiving morning for a day of fun and feasting.  The girls loved spending the day with their aunties and rest of the family it was so cute to see Hannah and Quentin really playing together for the first time.

On Friday we braved a freezing cold rainstorm for our annual trip to Whidbey Island to cut down our Christmas Tree at Scattered Acres with Bompa Dave.  I think it was our quickest tree pick yet but it was still super fun.  It truly is one of my favorite family traditions.  That night we had a fun and relaxing Thanksgiving celebration with Bompa Dave at AJ, Malia, and Quentin's house.

Saturday morning we woke up to snow (or "SNOW!!!!!!!!" as the twins screamed when they were supposed to be quietly going upstairs as to not wake Hannah).  After a little outside time we hopped in the car again to drive to Oly for our Stier family Thanksgiving.  The kiddos had a fun day playing at Nona and Bompa Jeff's house with Grandma Eileen before heading over to Uncle Wes, Aunt Becky, and Grandpa Bud's house for dinner.

Sunday was a day of rest at home.  Robby got all of the Christmas decorations out and the kiddos helped us "deck the halls."  Eileen proudly picked the perfect spot for our tree (in the playroom this year) and Margaret helped Hannah hang her very first ornament.  It was a lovely way to end a special weekend.
