Spring!

Eileen and Margaret
Spring has sprung and we have been enjoying our time as a family playing in the backyard and finally putting away our coats after a long winter.  The girls have even had a couple of afternoons playing in their wading pool!  We've had some fun family gatherings over the past month and Rob and I have been doing some celebrating ourselves as the girls have embraced potty training as we gear up for Hannah's arrival.    Eileen has really figured out riding her bike and zooms around the deck so fast with Margaret right behind her.  Today they both mastered going up the big hill to the grass and then walking their bikes down the stairs...where have our babies gone?  Eileen is very into pretend play and this month has started practicing being "Mommy Eileen" to her baby dolls.  Margaret continues to sing and dance her way through the day.  She loves making Eileen laugh with nonsense word songs all set to the tune of either "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" or "The Wheels on the Bus".  Their sense of humors are hilarious and they love hamming it up and making people laugh. At our Mother's Day celebration at Nona and Grandpa Jeff's house Eileen cracked everybody up by saying, "one moment, sweetheart!" to Margaret who was calling for her to come play.

Last Saturday was a big day for Rob as his organization, Transportation Choices Coalition, celebrated their 20th anniversary.  It was a 1920s themed celebration and Nona and Grandpa Jeff came to stay with the girls so I could join the party.  I was so proud to be there to support my amazing husband.  Over 300 people celebrated TCC's success at the Westin Hotel over a delicious dinner.  Senator Patty Murray was the guest of honor and gave a very inspiring speech, Seattle mayor Mike McGinn read a proclamation declaring May 18, 2013 Transportation Choices Coalition Day, and a fun time was had by all!  Congratulations to Rob and the rest of the TCC team!
